Elizabeth Haywood first learned the art of business development working in New York for a publishing company, where she built a substantial customer base in Japan from a standing start. Then while European Affairs Manager at the Welsh Development Agency (1989-94), she applied her skills to assisting Welsh small and medium-sized firms develop new European markets and win trade contracts.
As Director of the Confederation of British Industry in Wales (1994-2000), she was responsible for maintaining and growing company membership of the organisation. As Managing Director of kmc, an international recruitment business (2001-08), she personally brought in the highest total assignment fees.
When the Clydesdale Bank opened an office in Cardiff in 2005, she was invited to take a consultancy role as Regional Chair to help with business development, a role she held until 2008.
For over 20 years she has been at the sharp end of business development, and helped others develop their skills in this area.
